Access Services

The Access Services Department integrates five key services units of the Library: Circulation, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery, the Print Lab, Reserves and Stacks Maintenance. Access Services oversees circulation functions including borrowing, creating and monitoring Library user's records, and course reserves, as well as manages, maintains, and ensures the availability of the Library's print collections. The circulation desk is located right inside the front doors on the first floor. Here you can check out books and reserves material, request a search for missing items, search for lost items, and pick up Interlibrary Loan material (ILL) when the ILL department is closed.

Access Services is also the home of Interlibrary Loan which allows our patrons to request needed material that is not owned by the Axe Library, thus greatly increasing the resources to which our researchers have access.

In addition this department collects user statistics, allows for paying of fines, runs the Print Lab, maintains the physical stacks, shelves materials and searches for items missing from the collections.
