PSU Library Catalog provides information about the titles and holdings of Axe Library, the Kansas Technology Center Library (KTC), and the Career Resource Center, all located on the campus of PSU. In addition, the Catalog features material held at PSU Library Consortium member libraries. Please consult with contacts below for additional borrowing information.
ENCORE, produced by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) is the public catalog. All consortia partners share the catalog, and each search can be "scoped", or limited, to a particular library site.
SIERRA, also produced by III, is the staff component of the ILS (integrated library system), used by the librarians for collection management, acquisitions, database maintenance, circulation and inventory control, serials management, and other services employed to provide the most accurate information about the titles we have to our patrons.
SUMMON, produced by ProQuest, our "Discovery Interface", indexes all the material in ENCORE and SIERRA, and, like ENCORE, uses facets. Summon differs dramatically from ENCORE, however, in that it is a clearinghouse for nearly all of our subscription content coming from our online journals and databases, as well as scholarly online content coming from Google Scholar, open-URL digital repositories, image repositories, and other scholarly resources available to us. Consortia material is also indexed in Summon and serves as a backup catalog for our consortia partners.
Pittsburg State University Library Services serves the needs of the campus and the community with many technologies and services. Among them are shared online catalog resources with PSU Libraries, campus administrative units, and area regional libraries. On-campus locations, in addition to Axe Library on the main campus, include:
Kansas Technology Center Library (KTC): Items in the Online Catalog marked with a location of KTC are located at the Kansas Technology Center Library, S-221 KTC, 620-235-4054. PSU patrons may borrow items directly from KTC or AXE but should check hours of availability. Contact Heather Winzer at KTC.
Career Resource Center (CRC): Items in the Online Catalog marked with a location of CRC are located at the PSU Career Resource Center, 202 Horace Mann, 620-235-4144.
