Office of the Dean

Welcome to Library Services at Pittsburg State University. Whether you use our main campus library located at 1605 South Joplin Street, the Kansas Technology Center branch library, or access our resources and services through various online portals, our goal is to provide our campus and community the same high-quality services and information resources. We work closely with the Writing Center, Student Success Center, and our other campus partners to achieve the best possible outcomes for our library users. Partnerships with other regional libraries further advance teaching, learning and resource sharing.

Library Services aspires to provide a learning environment that anticipates and creatively fulfills the needs of our various communities of users by

  • Promoting student success and increasing information competencies through personalized and learner-centered instruction and services;
  • Providing a diverse array of both physical and virtual resources for our faculty, students, and community, including a significant collection of materials relevant to the history and culture of our University and geographical region;
  • Creating a culture of assessment, accountability, and continuous improvement;
  • Serving as an innovator for new learning technologies; and
  • Providing inspirational and welcoming learning spaces.

It is an exciting time to be part of the learning and information communities in higher education and academic libraries as we go through many changes and advances. We look forward to an opportunity to support your personal journey of learning and discovery.

Sincerely,
Randy Roberts
