Donation Requests

Information for Donors

Thank you for your interest in donating to our collections.

Please contact the curator at (620) 235-4883 or sdecaro@pittstate.edu to discuss a potential donation.

Before you contact us, please be aware of the following:

• We primarily collect materials related to Pittsburg State University or state, local and regional history.
• Storage space and staff time are limited. We cannot accept all items offered to us.
• A deed of gift or letter of acknowledgement is part of the donation process and necessary for our records. Please do not drop off donations without contacting us first.
• Duplicates of items we already have are less of a priority to collect and may be discarded.

• Item condition will be considered when a potential donation is offered, and after it is received. Damaged items may be discarded as we process your donation.
• Once received, Special Collections materials do not leave our department.
• We are unable to provide appraisals. Please contact a qualified appraiser or the University Advancement office prior to donating if you have questions about the value of your items.
