Donation Requests

Information for Donors

Thank you for your interest in donating to our collections.

Please contact the curator at (620) 235-4883 or sdecaro@pittstate.edu to discuss a potential donation.  

Before you contact us, please be aware of the following:  

1. We primarily collect materials related to Pittsburg State University or state, local and regional history.
2. Storage space and staff time are limited. We cannot accept all items offered to us.
3. A deed of gift or letter of acknowledgement is part of the donation process and necessary for our records. Please do not drop off donations without contacting us first.
4. Duplicates of items we already have are less of a priority to collect and may be discarded.
5. Item condition will be considered when a potential donation is offered, and after it is received. Damaged items may be discarded as we process your donation.
6. Once received, Special Collections materials do not leave our department.
